Gas logs and fire glass change the visual center of a fireplace. They do not change the requirements of the appliance underneath.
Fuel, burner, venting, approved media, clearances, and model-specific instructions control what can be used. The fireplace comes first. The look follows.
The essential boundary
Beautiful media is still equipment-specific.
A firebox can look like a gas fireplace without being a manufacturer-built gas appliance. Its surround tells you how it looks; its firebox and equipment tell you what it is.
Logs, burners, embers, fire glass, stones, and other decorative media are not universal or automatically interchangeable. A suitable product must match the appliance, burner system, fuel, and current manufacturer instructions.
Do not select gas media from appearance or opening dimensions alone.

For a fireplace that calls for familiar scale, texture, and the visual language of a wood fire. The correct set depends on the approved burner system and the documented arrangement for it.
Architectural light
Fire glass
For a cleaner, more reflective firebox where flame, color, and depth do the visual work. Glass may be appropriate only where the specific equipment permits that media and arrangement.
A controlled selection
